Tiffany P: Lovely Lashes and Lovelier Lady
Celebrity lash tech specialist Tiffany P is responsible for Russian Volume (a lash style that is a staple on Ari). At the young age of 25, she works with celebrities including Porsha, Kaelae, Dior Marzette, Sierra from “Love and Hip Hop” and so many others. She started her business Lash TYP located at 123 Luckie Street in Atlanta just a year ago with the mottos “we want to compliment and uplift women so they never experience a confidence slip” and “people will stare, make it worth their while.” Lash TYP is far more than just a lash extension salon; they offer a variety of services such as microdermabrasion and derma-blading facials, ear candling to naturally remove the wax from your ears, body cavitation to orally remove toxins from your body, non-surgical buttocks enhancements, vag steaming, and they are planning to add makeup artists in the near future. Their goal is to become a one-stop-shop for women to come get beautified and conquer the day.
The Root of It All
Tiffany’s journey began at the age of 19 when she took her first lash class. Her mother is a master beautician who has gone on to become a teacher, and her sister is a hairstylist, but Tiffany’s decision to become a lash technician was not affected by her family’s careers. Her unique career choice mainly stemmed from her love of doing her lashes.
She believes she can offer a little more bang for your buck when it comes to lashes saying, “I feel like that’s why I’m a little bit more successful, because I care and I’m passionate about what I do.”
Creating, Maintaining, and Growing
Being the CEO of her own poppin’ company and being in the game for 6 years, she considers herself a master of her craft; however, she is always willing to try something new and does admit that she still has a lot to learn when it comes to the business aspects of her company.
But don’t get it twisted–she always stays up to date with the different avenues in her business ventures by taking or teaching classes. She keeps up with her competition in other high-traffic locations to see how their practices are similar to hers and what elements she can improve upon.
Tiffany started her company Lavish Lash on Juniper St. back in 2016, which transformed into her own established shop, Lash TYP, a year later. This is the first of many shops Tiffany plans to own. She wants to become a corporation with franchises in popular cities such as Miami and Los Angeles, and possibly in North Carolina due to the huge support system that stems from there.
When I asked her what other business ventures she would like to pursue, surprisingly she said a trucking company. She said it would be useful in transporting her products across the U.S.
Three pieces of advice she gave during the interview to grow and expand your business were to always think for the future and invest in yourself and your business–you have to put love into what you do because if you give your clients enough do they come back. Lastly, she wants other business owners to know that the journey is not always going to be easy. There will be good and bad days; as long as you stay driven and focus on making the client happy than you’ll be successful.
Star-Studded Client List
Tiffany’s worked hard to build a reputation in her industry. As such she’s acquired quite this clientele in the Atlanta area who are all very well known for their distinguished Russian volume lashes. This popular set is also one of Tiffany’s personal favorites.
She maintains her reputation by taking care and caring for each of her clients with special attention. Word of mouth travels fast, and if you are always willing to accommodate your guests’ needs and give great service, it’s easy to keep clients. She also states that lash time is like mini therapy sessions where you get all the tea and build your relationship with them, but she can’t do it all on her own.
In her establishment, Tiffany has a full staff of well-trained girls who work with her. Before she ventured out into her own business, she worked at a very strict company for four years. She learned from them that a business is a revolving door. Tiffany has her rules and procedures for her business, and she won’t let anyone who comes to work for her change that.
Not Just a Girl-Boss
Aside from the fact that she does amazing lashes, she also has a great sense of style and a passion for traveling. Tiffany is a girly-girl, but she isn’t picky when it comes to shopping. She loves to support black-owned businesses and enjoys casually shopping at high-end shops as well. She has traveled to many places such as Jamaica, London, Mexico, Trinidad, St. Tropez, and recently took her amazing sense of style to Thailand for her birthday on September 12th.
She likes to travel with her boyfriend of two years, who has been very supportive of her throughout her business endeavors. She wants to get married before she has children, but she wants to have them around the age of 28 when she is more established.
Her ultimate goal in life is to “Wake up happy every day, love what I’m doing, have multiple streams of income with residual income, so I can just wake up in the morning check my account and just see deposits and just be happy overall and just to have people around me who are happy for me, have a good vibe and I’m happy for them.”
