About

ENCOURAGING. EMPOWERING. ENTERTAINING.

Iconic Youth is a rising independent media platform for Atlanta’s young people. We provide entertainment and information, empowering today’s youth to initiate, develop and lead the lives of their dreams. We maintain attention and engagement, relay positive connections, implement informational resources and deliver critical knowledge for growth.

  • We strive to sincerely connect with our audience, creating content that focuses on their development and empowerment.
  • Our aim is to ease the “bridges” of life–the transitions from high school to college, from college to the real world, from high school to the real world. These are critically defining moments, and media outlets have failed to cover them with courage. We’re going to change that.
  • Iconic Youth’s focal point is Atlanta. We believe in taking care of our community–and that means minding what happens in our own backyards
  • We cover local topics that directly pertain to your interests, and national and global news that intersect with your values
  • Our innovation-obsessed culture is fused with a principled editorial system, which means that we always deliver trustworthy content
  • Through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and podcasts, we display unique stories and perspectives about life, relationships, industry challenges and innovators shaping the future
  • We provide you with the tools to explore your passions, interests, and society at large by featuring content from five sections: Life, Society, Business, Entertainment, and Thoughts.
For you to learn about yourselves, the Iconic Youth

Our Story

Born from a distaste in barriers youth face and today’s media news, founder Catedra Phillips created Iconic Youth to empower young people with useful truths, to combat negativity with positive realism, and to raise up the next generation for a society of pragmatic individuals.

Phillips, a marketing consultant worker by day, founded other successful ventures in the non-profit sector. Her non-profit organization, AREACH, has been around for nearly 7 years, serving the local youth community in Atlanta.

She attended college at American Intercontinental University, where she dual majored in fashion and marketing while working as a contractor for the Atlanta Public School System. After 14 years of close engagement with youth, she founded Iconic Youth. A single mother of one, Phillips has been passionate about young people all her life.

Phillips uses her multifaceted approach to blaze new trails, alongside her is a dedicated team with equal passion. As she pushes the editorial team to engage with the Atlanta youth community, compelling content is created in a way that is fundamentally new in the media world. Phillips has a proven track record of implementing savvy marketing techniques, community engagement and youth development. Iconic Youth will unite communities with solution-based journalism.
