Have you ever been stuck in a repeated circle and never felt alive? Sometimes in life, we question ourselves when we get stuck in a dark place and question the ability of God and ask ourselves “why am I going through this” or “what is my purpose?” The answer to those questions all starts with you. Mental health is vital, and I believe it’s not taken seriously enough in today’s society and the reason I love to help and talk about the importance behind it, you always come first, your health always comes first. But what’s most important is putting God first and cleaning your spirit as well with your mind.
Here are healthy and unhealthy ways to improve your mental health and techniques to create a spiritual path for yourself.
3 UNHEALTHY THINGS THAT YOU MUST STOP DOING
- Downing Yourself: Stop saying or thinking about yourself in a negative way it’s not healthy for your heart or mindset if you do this from low self-esteem, downing yourself, because you’re not where you want to be at this point or downing yourself because other people are living life and you wish you can do that too. STOP! Don’t put yourself down over that. This is your life and you got this!
- Comparing Your Life to Everyone Else: Quick question? Do you scroll down social media wishing you was this or that? Well cut that toxic trait out, because it’s not healthy to compare your life to someone else. Be original, be you!
- Thinking Negative: Stop having a whirlpool of negative words floating around your brain. Stop thinking about a bad situation that happened yesterday and reinvent today! Mediate and think about five things that make you smile.
5 HEALTHY THINGS TO START DOING
- Keep A Journal: Write, write, write! Express your heart of words, and look back and see how far you have come. - Eat Healthier: It’s so important to have a well-balanced diet to improve your body and your mental health because whatever you put in your body, is how you feel inside. Your body is your home, so why abandon it when you can clean it and fill it with nutrients and love.
- Take New Risks: Don’t be afraid to try something new or to put yourself out there; you never know what the outcome will be.
- Meditate: Have your alone time and meditate alone outside or indoors and get to know your mind better.
- Restart Your Life: It can be anything from leaving an old city for a new one, ending an unstable relationship/marriage, or finding new friends. You have to understand that your own needs and happiness are worth more than anything else on this entire earth. It’s always okay to start over for your inner happiness and your mindset.
God works in magical ways; however, you can re-create your life in the way you want to live it and trust in the power of faith rather than fear. When we are stuck in a rut and don’t understand why everything is falling apart, look at whatever you put out into the universe and look at how it will come back to you. The way we think and feel inside is what we are putting out into the world. Trust the process, continue to pray, and let God lead the way.
