Overcoming the Odds one of Atlanta’s Hottest Producers is setting the Music Scene on Fire
Atlanta’s music scene is blowing up daily, and inside this new wave is a producer by the name of Myles Allen, commonly known as Money Makin’ Myles, who is captivating listeners with his unique styles of his beats.
He started making beats at the age of 11, but did not take it seriously until he graduated high school. During his senior year of high school, he met Kyambo Joshua, a rapper known as Westside KJ, who served as the catalyst that pushed Money Makin’ to continue making beats. Both graduates of North Atlanta high school, they developed a love for music that would last for years.
Surprisingly enough, Money Makin’ actually considered to stop making instrumentals completely. Pondering what he wanted to do after high school stalled his creative process while he was a senior in high school. Fortunately, after growing closer with KJ, their first studio time in 2017 led to the popular song, Jefe Talk, and after returning to school to let his peers listen, life began to change for Money Makin’.
Ironically, he never pushed beats on Westside KJ. However, after the success of Jefe Talk, Money Makin’ let KJ know that he was a producer, and the rest is history. While he handled production, and KJ provided lyrics, they created a dynamic duo. Nearly four months after the debut of Jefe Talk, their joint project, Kobe and Shaq, was released in November of 2017.
Money Makin’ Myles has come a long way. He produced every song on Kobe and Shaq, and the results were bigger than he could have predicted. The project recorded over a million views on Soundcloud, and helped elevate Money Makin’ to a new status. To add to the success he has already attained, Money Makin’ is also now pursuing an audio engineering degree at the School of Audio Engineering Institute.
However, life wasn’t always cheerful. Money Makin’ gave us an insight on how his experiences with losing friends to death and incarceration impacted his life. Although it was difficult for him to cope with, Money Makin’ chooses to look at that as motivation to continue grinding. He prides himself on never forgetting where he comes from.
From promoting his own singles with KJ on his Instagram feeds, to developing a love for his craft, Money Makin is exactly what we deem to be Iconic Youth. Make sure to follow him on Instagram at moneymakinmyles and watch the video below to see what it is like to live a day in his life!
