Album Review: DJ Khaled blesses fans with new album ‘Father of Asahd’
Last month, DJ Khaled released his 11th studio album, “Father of Asahd”, and has once again found a way to bring numerous artists together to produce one sound. Executively produced by Khaled’s son, Asahd Tuck Khaled, the 15-track project last a little under a full hour, yet it is packed with numerous collaborations that ensure every music fan listens to this album.
“Father Of Asahd” features artists Post Malone, Lil Baby, Meek Mill, Travis Scott, Chris Brown, 21 Savage, Mavado, 070 Shake, Buju Banton, Rick Ross, J Balvin, Jeremih, SZA, Chance the Rapper, Justin Bieber, Ceelo Green, the late Nipsey Hussle, John Legend, Quavo, Cardi B, Jeezy, Gunna, Lil Wayne, Sizzla, Nas, Big Sean, Future, Jay Z and Beyonce. Although each artist is unique, they combine on this album to give a taste of every music genre, including latin music, dancehall, reggae, R&B and trap music.
There is no doubt that DJ Khaled put together some chart-topping tracks. Cardi B and 21 Savage’s record, Wish Wish, is sure to be played in the clubs. Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper and Quavo team up again in “No Brainer”, which will do great numbers after their last collaboration, “I’m the One”, which still has over 1.2 billion views on Youtube.
The clear stand out song is “Higher”, where the rap lyrics of Nipsey Hussle fly over a melodic chorus made by John Legend. Hussle’s lyrics reminisce on his family and he even reflects on his ultimate fate. All proceeds of this song will go to Hussle’s children.
DJ Khaled combines dancehall tracks, Spanish music, trap music, and R&B all on Father of Asahd. No matter what genre of music you prefer, “Father of Asahd” is an album for all.
